The Irish national flag was delivered to school as part of an initiative to mark the centenary of the 1916 Rising. The ceremony saw members of the Defence Forces raise the flag and read the Proclamation to pupils and teachers. They also gave background information on the symbolism of the Tricolour and the etiquette attached to its display and storage.
Robert Deegan read a passage from the proclamation while Dermot Deegan was on flag duty.
The members of the Army took a Q & A session at the end with some very interesting questions from the lads. Our favourite was "Did you come in a jet?"

Well done to all the boys that represented Scoil Bhríde in the County Cross Country Competition. Everyone ran very well but a special mention must go to Simon McDonagh who placed 1st in the 3rd class category and David Walsh who placed in the top 10 in the 5th class category. No mean feat by any standard considering over 60 boys participated in each race. We are all very proud of the lads.
